Experience the fascinating world of marine animals at the Gulf World Marine Park in Panama City Beach. Gulf World is an educational facility dedicated to educating kids (and kids-at-heart) about the amazing world of marine life.
Here are some of the exhibits and learning opportunities that Gulf World offers:
Swim With Dolphins
The park houses bottlenose and rough-toothed dolphins. These rescued mammals have found a home at Gulf World, where they learn new skills and interact with their trainers through positive reinforcement training.
Want to get close up and personal with the dolphins? Book a swim date with the dolphins and you’ll get to experience the amazing power and playfulness of these mammals in chest-deep water. You will experience a “dorsal fin pull around,” a dolphin kiss, a dolphin handshake and more. The experience lasts 45 minutes to an hour; your dolphin encounter includes a professional photograph with the dolphin.
Feed and Pet Stingrays
Gulf World just opened a new habitat for stingrays, Stingray Bay. The 20,000 gallon habitat is in the Tropical Gardens, where you will also find flamingos and macaws. The park allows you to touch, feed and interact with the stingrays.
Kiss a Sea Lion
Enjoy an interactive experience with a California Sea Lion. Sessions are scheduled daily and are available every day Gulf World is open.
Shark and Turtle Feeding
Learn about sea turtles, nurse sharks, black tip sharks, stingrays and other marine fish in this exhibit. Watch as the animal care staff feed the animals. Ask questions and enjoy being close to these amazing animals.
Trainer for a Day
Perfect for animal lovers and the brave-at-heart! Shadow the Gulf World trainers for a day and go behind the scenes to work with these highly educated, trained staff members. You will assist in feeding the animals, training sessions and make an on-stage appearance in the Dolphin Show.
You are in for a treat when you spend the day at Gulf World. Enjoy exhibits showcasing sharks, penguins, sea turtles, alligators, flamingos and much more. Stay late and enjoy the nightly concerts, magic shows and special events.
